CHIROTA Project 2012 Summarized Activity Report
(1 January to 31 December 2012)

As of June 2012, the name of the organization, Ethiopian Elderly Women Project, Inc. has been changed to CHIROTA Elderly Neighbors Goodwill Project in Ethiopia, Inc.
On behalf of CHIROTA Elderly Neighbors Goodwill Project in Ethiopia, Inc. and its Board of Directors, I would like to extend my greetings to you and your family.
I would also like to express our appreciation of your donation in 2012 and beyond.  Last year, CHIROTA Project was successful in providing full assistance to 15 household Elders, some with dependents.  It is your donation that makes it possible to continue those services despite the rise of cost of living. Frankly, we could not do what we do now without family and friends such as you.
The 2012 CHIROTA Project’s activities were evaluated by two Board of Directors and two Advisers. The evaluations were based on:
  •  Meetings with and interviews Beneficiaries
  • Visiting the Beneficiaries
  • Reviewing the Beneficiaries medical reports and
  • Examining the written and verbal reports from the Volunteers
During our several meetings, we have found the Elders to be healthy and happy except old age and some with the permanent bad-health conditions.  All of them have expressed their appreciation of our assistance. Most of them had tears and lost words to express their gratitude of the care they are continuously receiving from the Project. Most of them have emphasized that “If it was not for our help, they could have died of hunger...”  We have assured them that we will continue providing assistance to them and not to worry about their basic needs.

As you know, CHIROTA Project main objectives are:

  • Two meals a day by providing Injera and food ingredients;
  • Give monthly pocket money to pay rent, water, electricity and cooking gas;
  • Help them to get medical assistance and counseling;
  • Provide cleaning Services;
  • Make their dwellings livable.

In this connection, we would like to inform you that we have added three vulnerable people replacing those three Elders who passed away last year.  Please click here to find more information about the new as well all beneficiaries.
As we marked three years on 10 June, we would like to extend our gratitude to donors like you who are encouraging us to do more and the volunteers in Addis Ababa who have dedicated their time and energy to help these vulnerable people.

Moreover, I would like to assure you that the Founder, the Board of Directors and the Volunteers are enthusiastic about the Project’s success and eager to continue the work which is in progress.

The Board of Directors and those we serve, deeply appreciate your generosity.
God bless you all!!!
The President/Founder
