CHIROTA Project 2011 Summarized Activity Report
(1January to 31 December 2011)

On behalf of the CHIROTA Elderly Neighbors Goodwill Project, Inc. and its Board of Directors, we would like to thank you for your support. Your commitment to helping the vulnerable elderly people in Ethiopia is sincerely appreciated.
It is with utmost pleasure that we report to you the successful activities performed in 2011 in assisting 10 households of elderly persons.
At the end of 2011, questionnaires were prepared and the Project’s activities were evaluated by one of the Board of Directors and the Founder of the Project. Most of the time two or three Advisers/Observers were present. The evaluations were based on: (1) visits to the beneficiaries’ homes; (2) meetings with and interviews of each beneficiary; (3) reviews of the beneficiaries’ medical reports; and (4) reviews of the written and verbal reports from the volunteers.
During our many lengthy meetings, it was realized that

(a) all the beneficiaries’ health conditions have improved;
(b) their homes have become more livable;
(c) the beneficiaries are satisfied with the food and food products as well as the monthly pocket money;
(d) the beneficiaries are appreciative of volunteers who took care of them with respect;
(e) their relationship with the neighbors have improved.

In general, their viewpoints about life have tremendously changed. We found them to be ambitious and looking forward for a better life.

During our meetings, we have assured the beneficiaries that the assistance they are being provided will continue and advised them to be cooperative especially in their medical treatments.

In this occasion, the President and his Board of Directors would like to express their appreciation of the dedicated, patient and compassionate volunteers in Addis Ababa who are treating the beneficiaries as their families.
With your help each year, we hope the Project will continue to advance its mission of assisting more disadvantaged elderly people by providing them their basic needs.
