CHIROTA Elderly Neighbors Goodwill Project in Ethiopia, Inc. welcomes volunteers to help in the following areas: 
  • Provide food to the hungry elderly people
  • Care for the sick/disabled persons
  • Give medical treatment
  • Provide shelter to homeless persons
  • Help in the Project's administrative matters

CHIROTA Project's Volunteer Officers:

Three volunteer officers in Addis Ababa are administrating and supervising (a) daily food supplies (b) monthly food supplies (c) payment of monthly expenses (d) medical assistance and other related issues. These volunteers work without salary but only a token amount to cover transport and cell phone expenses related to the work of the Project.

There are five advisers who are available to give counseling, health assistance to the elderly people and provide administrative guidance as needed.

  • One person who prepares Food Ingredients
  • One Messenger
  • One Assistant Messenger

I would like to take this opportunity to extend our thanks to the relentless and thoughtful Volunteers and staff in Addis Ababa, who are taking care of the Elderly People and their dependents with respect and compassion.  Without their firm and devoted performance, it could have been difficult to accomplish the goals and objectives of CHIROTA Project.

  • Payment of expenses
  • Plus access to some in house training

Hours needed:
  • Four hours per week for a minimum period of 3 months;
  • One hour to attend supervision & support sessions.
